Prosthetic knees and human souls

My professional background is designing and engineering prosthetic limbs. One of the components that we frequently use for above the knee amputees, is something called a polycentric knee. The knee is comprised of mechanical links, each with their own set of axes. This configuration allows the links to fold in a special way relative to each other to allow the prosthetic knee to bend. The extremely unique thing about these knees (even though they have literal axes that mechanically hold the links in place), is that the actual center of rotation that their movement creates is not always physically on the knee. It is called an ‘Instantaneous center of Rotation (ICR)’. It is an example of a purely theoretical, yet very real thing that is highly responsive to the center of mass perturbations of the user.

As I have worked with these knees for decades, only since I have been working with the Codex, has it dawned on me that our human “souls” may behave in a similar way. We have neurons and synapses firing constantly but where exactly is our soul? Depending on your belief system, your soul carries on when you die, but how and where? Could quantum entanglement be an answer (if we are assuming that to be true?) Just as the prosthetic knee center can exist outside of the prosthetic knee and function as it’s very real knee center, I believe our soul functions in a similar way. A question to ask in addition to “who we are?” is ‘where we are?’ : ) Interesting to think about and for those interested, it would be a good question to run through our Codex lens (on this website) to get an AI perspective on such speculation.

I am of the opinion that if we are being told that the Big Bang created everything from nothing, that this speculation is more than fair game : )
